Ingredients:
- 1 1/2 cups chicken broth
- 2 (1.7-ounces each) packages chicken Dijon recipe mix, such as Knorr
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 4 large cloves garlic, minced
- grated zest and juice of 1 lemon (about 3 tbs juice)
- 1 onion, quartered and thinly sliced
- 8 to 9 ounces dried mission or calymira figs, cut in half
- 6 to 8 boneless chicken breast halves, skin removed
Preparation:
In a 4 to 5 quart slow cooker, combine the chicken broth, Dijon recipe mix, cinnamon, garlic, and lemon zest and juice. Stir in the sliced onion and figs. Push the chicken breast halves down into the mixture in the pot. Cover and cook on the LOW for 6 hours or until the chicken is cooked through and tender but still moist. Serves 6 to 8.
