Pre-Browning Ground Beef

By Diana Rattray, About.com

Thanks to Myron for sharing his time-saving tips.

Ingredients:

  • ground beef, see instructions

Preparation:

I prefer the ground beef browned, and here's a neat way to have it browned AND save time as well...

Buy the ground beef in large packages, particularly when you see it on sale. Brown it in advance and freeze it in half-pound packages. Then, just pop a package or two into the slow cooker when preparing a recipe. You do not even have to thaw the beef!
