Spaghetti Sauce

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound extra lean ground beef
  • 1/2 to 1 cup chopped onion
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 2 cans (14.5 ounces each) tomatoes, cut up
  • 1 can (8 ounces) can tomato sauce
  • 1 can (12 ounces) tomato paste
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 2 teaspoons dried parsley flakes
  • 2 teaspoons brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano leaves
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried basil leaves
  • 1 teaspoon salt, or to taste
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper

Preparation:

In skillet , brown ground beef with onion and garlic. Drain. In slow cooker/Crock Pot, combine browned meat, onions, and garlic with remaining ingredients. Cover and cook on low for 6 to 8 hours. Serve over hot spaghetti. May be made ahead of time and frozen. Makes 6-8 servings.
