Ingredients:
- 1/2 pound lean ground beef
- 1 pound kielbasa or smoked sausage, sliced about 1/2-inch thick
- 1 (28 ounce) can tomatoes, undrained
- 1 1/2 to 2 cups frozen French-style green beans
- 1 can whole ripe olives, about 6 ounces, drained
- 1/2 cup dry red wine
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 onion, sliced and separated into rings
- 1 medium green pepper, chopped
- 1 teaspoon dried leaf basil, crushed
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano, crushed
- 1/2 teaspoon dried leaf thyme, crushed
- 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1 pound pasta of your choice
- 4 ounces fresh grated Parmesan cheese
Preparation:
In a medium skillet, brown the lean ground beef. When browned, transfer to slow cooker. Add all other ingredients except pasta and Parmesan cheese. Cover and cook on LOW for 6 to 8 hours. Cook pasta according to directions. To serve, ladle kielbasa over pasta in large serving bowls. Pass the Parmesan cheese to garnish.
